Goals for next week

I have been reading alot of blogs latelyand came across one lady who lists her goals for the week in her blog. I think this is a good idea and I am going to try it out for this week. So, here are my goals for this week:

1. Finish sewing the last row on the king sized quilt and get it ironed and ready for borders

2. Measure my son for his coat and trace out the correct sized pattern

3. Finish at least one of the $5 quilt blocks from Quilter's Delight.

My husband is going out of town this week so it will be interesting to see if I have any energy left at the end of the day to actually sew anything.

Bound and Labeled!

Today I had a productive day in the sewing room. I finished sewing on the binding for Abbie's quilt and actually labeled it also! I actually thought that today was Stashbuster day to label something and I was feeling very good about having completed a label on the correct day, but I just went to their website and found out that Wednesday is label day. Oh well better late than never. All I have left is to put a hanging sleve on the back and this quilt will be DONE!!! Yeah! One fewer project to worry about.

I also managed to get a few more rows sewn together on the King sized quilt that I am working on. It will be so nice to get that top done and ready for quilting. I will probably have to wait to have it quilted since it is too big to do at home and I would like to have some nice machine quilting done on it.

The next project that I am going to be working on is a darling jacket for my son that I got from Nancy's Notions I am making it with the denim and yellow dots fabric that they suggest and I think it will be darling. There are not many cute clothing items out there for boys.

Tomorrow I am going to Quilter's Delight in Scottsdale to show my completed block of the month and pick up the new one. I have been enjoying this program and am looking forward to completing the quilts at the end of the year.

A little about me...

Earlier this year I found the Quiltville website and have become very interested in using up my scraps and have implemented Bonnie's scrap user's system. I also have made a goal to finish up my UFO's before starting any new projects. Currently I am working on finishing a quilt for Abigail (due September 12th) of which I just need to finish the binding and label it. I also am working on finishing a king sized quilt for my bedroom that I have been working on for at least 3 years now. When finished the king sized quilt will be the largest one I have ever completed.

I am including a picture of a string-x quilt that I made and recently gave as a baby shower gift. I was using the string pieced blocks as leaders and enders while working on other projects and was very happy to find that I almost had a completed quilt when the time came that I needed a quilt for a gift. I am continuing to use the string pieced blocks as leaders and enders and it is fun to see the pile of comleted 4 1/2" x 10 1/2 blocks add up.

My goal for having this blog is to make a record of my quilting for myself and maybe share it with some others and to use it as a means to look back on my progress. Thank you for sharing this adventure with me.
